About Us

Formerly Crooked River Resort, Its name changed to Crooked Creek Canoe LLC in 2013 with new owners Anthony and Melinda Sedlak.

Crooked Creek provides a wide array of activities at the most affordable price on the historic Kickapoo River.

Canoe and Kayak trips start on Reads Creek and finish on the Kickapoo River in Soldiers Grove or Gays Mills. Trips can last from three hours to several days depending on your liking.  Watercraft rentals include shuttle, lifejacket, paddles, bottle of water and a dry box for a cell phone. There are various tent or RV camping sites along the river as well as log cabins at Crooked Creek in Readstown. All cabins are semi-secluded with a large lawn and are water-front to the Reads Creek, a class 3 trout fishing stream. Ask for more info on primitive cabins, horseback riding and camping along the river if interested.

It is recommended that you bring  extra clothes as you may get wet during the trip. Remember to bring plenty of food and water for the duration of your trip. We do have some canoeing and camping supplies for purchase. NO GLASS, Styrofoam, or fireworks are allowed on the river.
